Raising Standards of Engineering Ethics through Student Teams

Wei Dong,Hu Cheng,Yuan Zhang

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2014, Volume 1, Issue 4,   Pages 402-405 doi: 10.15302/J-FEM-2014047

Abstract: Reducing the frequency of engineering accidents is a “people’s responsibility.” Increased attention to engineering ethics is inevitable. Engineering ethics are a stance, attitude or outlook, not easily learned by lectures. This article explores the utility of student teamwork by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior and acknowledging the benefits of professional knowledge and professional ethics possessed by the professional teachers, under professional teacher guidance, in order to improve levels of engineering education ethics. There are 5 key points: ① team member recruitment standards; ② team size; ③ team name and motto; ④ team group activities; ⑤ extending the spirit into the post-graduate period.

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 8,   Pages 88-91

Abstract:

In order to study the residual stresses of auto fettage super high pressure vessel effectively,  a new model of stress and strain was developed in this paper.  The model is more closer to actual working condition for the steel applied in auto fettage super high pressure vessel through the strict mathematic testification.  The example to be given in this paper states how this model was established and how the error was analyzed.  The same example also shows that solving the new model of stress and strain based on general tensile curves is feasible and reliable indeed.  The model has theoretical signification and engineering practical value to a certain extend.

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 11,   Pages 204-208

Abstract:

After1980s, China's private education has displayed strong development tendency. Private Universities have undertaken certain responsibility and obligation in the process of the higher education entering into popular stage. But meanwhile there are also some pressing issues in its internal management and school behavior. In the process of their development, private universities need to refine and standardize the internal management, as well as improve management from the height of strategy.

The Century-long Rush of Students for Study Abroad and Its Impact on China´s Science and Engineering

Song Jian

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 4,   Pages 27-37

Abstract:

A detailed retrospect is made about the 130 years-long historical stream of Chinese students rushingA chronicle of 10 generations of students studied abroad in the period of 1870〜2000 is suggested andAn analysis is made with emphasis on the 9th and 10th generations of students selected and sent abroad

Historical records and statistical data show that all generations of returned students, scientistsIt is argued that the stream of students going abroad will be even intensified in the 21st century due

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 4,   Pages 375-388 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500232

Abstract: As FlexRay communication protocol is extensively used in distributed real-time applications on vehicles, signal scheduling in FlexRay network becomes a critical issue to ensure the safe and efficient operation of time-critical applications. In this study, we propose a rectangle bin packing optimization approach to schedule communication signals with timing constraints into the FlexRay static segment at minimum bandwidth cost. The proposed approach, which is based on integer linear programming (ILP), supports both the slot assignment mechanisms provided by the latest version of the FlexRay specification, namely, the single sender slot multiplexing, and multiple sender slot multiplexing mechanisms. Extensive experiments on a synthetic and an automotive X-by-wire system case study demonstrate that the proposed approach has a well optimized performance.
